Subject: Matrix!!
Subject: Matrix!!
Recording: If any show would benefit from one of Hunter's Trix, this would be it. In the Clugston SBD, Brentsky (mostly) and co. are drowning out Jerry. In this Miller/Streeter AUD, it's the other way around. I am pretty sure that I am hearing two shows made to be in communion. Some audience is required for this show, their reactions certainly add something (and likely reflect the feelings of all who are listening now). And both hold very very nice clear instruments. The levels just need to be somewhere in the middle of both recordings...
Show: Jeez, the Scarlet>Fire is technically perfect aside from a few Jer bum notes coming out of Scarlet. All lyrics HIT (with some neat variations), Fire>Scarlet Outro Melody is perfect and caught by all the boys. Nothing to say about *the* moment in Fire, just needs to be heard. The rest of the show is very well played. I like any year of the band, and 82 is no exception. Jerry's voice is still very clear (though is there anything wrong with it not being so 83 and on?), the band is one cohesive unit as always. Nothing too out there and no mistakes too great, which makes this show a great one for somebody's first.
- 5 for show
- 3 for recording (a Matrix really should get done, or I may have to give it a whirl myself)
- 4 total

this venue looks super cool. Can't imagine that music playing inside that Auditorium. Some pics here give you an idea, the last one shows the inside lit up. wow.

Mrs. Presky: "Why, this is nothing but a bag of shit!"
Announcer: "Yes, Mrs. Presky, but, it's GREAT shit."
Thanks, Charlie, for another gem from the early 80's! Well recorded, balanced and transferred. A definite "keeper." Let It Grow through Terrapin is wonderful!

Haven't finished listening to this show yet but I just had to comment.
Great sound on this AUD - my ears adjusted quickly and I was rapidly immersed in the thick Florida air. A well balanced recording, with a warm sound and plenty of low end.
If you listen to anything from this show, check out the Scarlet>Fire. They blow the roof off the joint at around 6:30 in Fire. If you can't feel the eruption of energy, please have someone check your pulse.
Looking forward to the rest of the show.
